The Stage is being set for a Mega International Trade Event, Textiles India 2017, scheduled to be held from June 30, 2017 to July 2, 2017, at Mahatma Mandir and Exhibition Grounds, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This Event encompasses the inspiring Vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi -‘From Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign’.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will inaugurate Textiles India 2017, which is expected to have a footfall of over 2,500 International and 15,000 Domestic Trade visitors and will thereby serve as a Global marketing platform for the Industry. Textiles India holds the promise of becoming a landmark annual trade event, for the Indian Textiles and Apparel industry at the global level. The aim is to make it the key flagship event of the Ministry of Textiles such that, it is engraved as an annual destination for International Buyers. This mega international trade event will, for the first time, mark the positioning of an annual textile trade event in India on the Annual calendar of Global Trade events. Textiles India 2017 will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble
Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.
Planned as a three day event the exhibition has been divided into the main segments ranging from the Exhibition, Pavilions, Conferences and Fashion Shows. An extensive visitor promotion campaign by direct mails, invitations, advertisements in trade magazines and road shows is expected to bring the top decision-makers to visit Textiles India 2017.
The 1, 25,000 square metres exhibition area for the event will be spread across 11 Halls, and will have over 1,000 international and domestic exhibitor participant for this edition. The showcase for the exhibition will include exhibits that cover every aspect of the entire textile value chain across India, from ‘Fibre to Fashion’.
U.K., USA, Germany, Japan, China, South Korea, Turkey and Australia would be participating with their Country Pavilions. On the Domestic front, states of
Assam, Karnataka, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh would mark their presence with their Pavilions too. The event will also include a global conference on the last day with five well considered themes, to be chaired by the respective Hon’ble Union Ministers. The Valedictory session will be presided over by the Hon’ble Union Finance Minister, Shri Arun Jaitely. A major draw would be the thirty-three Round Table Seminars, which will address key issues across all segments in the value chain with prominent international and domestic Industry leaders participating in the same.
The Textile & Apparel Exports for India stands at US $ 40 billion for the year 2015-16. These figures makes India occupy the 2nd rank in the Global Textile Exports list . India makes it to the 5th position in terms of Apparel Exports alone. Over 45 million people are already directly employed into the positively growing Textile Value Chain and the same has a potential to employ another 3.5 million people by 2022.
