40th IAF World Fashion Convention in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

The 40th IAF World Fashion Convention was held together with ITMF in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in October 24-25, 2025

The ITMF Annual Conference & IAF World Fashion Convention 2025 brought together global leaders from across the textile and apparel value chain in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, under the theme: Navigating Uncertainty & Adopting Technology – Pathways to Sustainable Strength in the Textile & Apparel Industry.

Jointly organised by the International Apparel Federation (IAF) and the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), and hosted in collaboration with the Indonesian Textile Association (API), the convention provided a global platform for strategic dialogue, innovation exchange and industry collaboration.

The event welcomed senior industry leaders, manufacturers, brands, technology providers and policymakers to address how the sector can strengthen resilience, accelerate digital transformation and advance sustainability across global supply chains.

About the Convention

Following the successful launch of the joint convention format in 2024, the 2025 edition further strengthened collaboration between textile and apparel sectors, reflecting the shared conviction that future industry solutions must be developed across the entire value chain. The convention focused on enabling industry stakeholders to navigate global uncertainty, adopt transformative technologies and build long-term sustainable strength through collaboration and innovation.

The 2025 programme addressed key transformation topics shaping the global textile and apparel industry, including:

  • Technology adoption and artificial intelligence in manufacturing
  • Sustainability, decarbonisation and regulatory developments
  • Digital product passport and traceability requirements
  • Fibre innovation and material transformation
  • Audit convergence and supply chain efficiency
  • Trade and policy developments impacting global supply chains

These topics reflect the increasing importance of system-level collaboration, digital transformation and sustainability transition across the industry.

Programme Highlights

Pre-Conference Activities
The programme included company visits and industry meetings, offering delegates direct exposure to Indonesia’s textile and apparel ecosystem and manufacturing capabilities. Delegates visited leading companies including PT Dan Liris, PT Pan Brothers, PT Ambassador Garmindo, Golden Tekstil Indonesia and Ungaran Sari Garment, demonstrating Indonesia’s manufacturing excellence, innovation capacity and sustainability commitment.

Global Industry Platform

The joint convention continues to be one of the key global gatherings of textile and apparel industry leaders, supporting cross-value-chain collaboration and strategic alignment on future transformation priorities.

Local Industry Engagement

The success of the 2025 convention was strongly supported by API and leading Indonesian industry partners, showcasing Indonesia as a dynamic and forward-looking textile and apparel production hub. Through company visits and industry participation, the convention highlighted Indonesia’s growing strategic importance in global supply chains and its commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Presidency Transition Ceremony

During the Gala Dinner at Prambanan Temple, the presidency transitions of both federations were formally marked.

At IAF, Mr. Cem Altan handed over the presidency to Mr. Stefano Festa Marzotto.
At ITMF, Mr. K. V. Srinivasan handed over the presidency to Mr. Juan Parés.

In recognition of his outstanding service two consecutive terms and leadership, Mr. Cem Altan was honoured with the Golden IAF Pin for his contributions to the International Apparel Federation and the global apparel industry.
