AAFA Offers Leadership Tools and Training to Address Compliance and Competitiveness Challenges

Addressing restricted substances, chemical management, responsible manufacturing, and sustainability, the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has led the industry to help to it stay compliant with ever-changing regulations and remain competitive in the face of a disruptive sourcing and retail environment.

In early December, AAFA convened a powerhouse of brands, retailers, and wholesalers in Dhaka, Bangladesh, bringing training to the apparel base on product safety, worker safety, and supply chain compliance. Training factories to adopt and comply with restricted substances lists, address testing failures and noncompliant products, and design and implement effective worker health and safety programs were its focus.

Now Available:

AAFA Restricted Substances List –  Adopted by brands, retailers, and wholesalers the world over, AAFA’s RSL covers chemicals and other substances whose presence in a product is restricted through a government regulation or law.  The list identifies the most restrictive iteration of that regulation worldwide.  Every six months, the publication is reviewed and updated, and the latest version is made available for free to the apparel and footwear industry.
